Purposeful Functional Movement … God’s Way

Devotional exercise and purposeful/functional movement classes designed to not just move your body, but to help move you closer to the Designer. To His glory.

About the classes

The classes were filmed on a casual indoor or outdoor set (weather permitting) and may have the occasional cat, bird, child, or other critter pass through the scene. Each video is edited to ensure minimal distraction while keeping with the homey and real-life atmosphere.

These classes will go through the entire body, exploring health from a Biblical perspective. Topics include Eating God’s Word for Good Digestion, She Works Willingly with Her Hands, Plant Your Feet on the Rock, The Privilege of Prayer (Knees), A Broken Spirit Dries Up the Bones, In the Kitchen (maximize your movement while working in the kitchen), I Will Give You Rest (increase movement at rest), and more.

More details

Classes will be dripped typically on a weekly basis (4 per month) for the first 3 months of membership. These classes are the basics and set the groundwork for your whole body postural alignment (in God’s image) practice. Please make sure you have mastered these classes and postural principles by re-watching and practicing the principles taught. Though something may seem simple, once integrated into another pattern, it may be more difficult than first thought.

For example, it may seem easy to keep your ribs in alignment during an exercise, but keeping them in that position all day long is an entirely different matter. Doing these “simple” exercises serves as a re-training for the neuromuscular system.

In other words, you are literally creating new connections between your brain and your muscles to default to proper alignment instead of faulty movement patterns. Pretty amazing!

After the first 3 months, more classes will be dripped about every other week. You will also have full unlimited access to all of the classes already released for the length of your membership so should have plenty to work on daily to keep your functional movement practice progressing.

Why Rest is the Best Exercise You Need to Be Doing

Why Rest is the Best Exercise You Need to Be Doing

“Come unto me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28   Sometimes we have seasons of rest by choice. Vacations, holidays, weekends, even sleeping in.   Other times, we are given seasons of rest that we don’t necessarily enjoy such as illness, injury, a job loss, or just not knowing where God is leading.…

How to Exercise Like It’s 1875 … God’s Way

How to Exercise Like It’s 1875 … God’s Way

I’ve always loved the idea of exercise. It’s no wonder, really, since I grew up with a home video selection that included Jane Fonda, accompanied my mom to her aerobics class before I was old enough for school, had the “Get in Shape,Girl” ribbon on a stick, and had both the Sesame Street and Barbie exercise records.     But the…

10 Super Sneaky Ways to Do Your Postural Exercises

10 Super Sneaky Ways to Do Your Postural Exercises

We’ve talked a lot about the importance of posture, moving the way God designed, and how it can affect your health. Now let’s get practical and introduce some “corrective” exercises in order to undo any *ahem* not-so-perfect posture habits we may have learned over the years.   Since I’ve been a little busy moving (due to mold) and resting (due…

What Happened to the Importance of Posture?

What Happened to the Importance of Posture?

“Sit up straight. Shoulders back. Chest up. Good posture.”   How many of us have heard this or something similar before? Though I don’t ever remember being taught good posture or particularly being fussed at over it, I do remember my grandparents being proud of their good posture as they aged.   And it said something about them. That they were…

How Can Being Like Clay Shape Your Life?

How Can Being Like Clay Shape Your Life?

Do remember back in the day when they had those little 25¢ toy dispenser machines at the grocery store? Sometimes when my mom and I were done grocery shopping, she’d treat me to a little container of what I called “slime” from one of those machines. There was something about that slimy stuff that I loved! And even though it dried out…

Does Just a Little Compromise Matter?

Does Just a Little Compromise Matter?

The other day I was pouring a smoothie for supper. And I noticed that I was doing it teapot style. You know …   “I’m a little teapot short and stout Here is my handle, here is my spout When I get all steamed up hear me shout, Tip me over and pour me out!”   Yeah. That one. I…

Is it Better to be Right- or Left-Handed?

Is it Better to be Right- or Left-Handed?

Is it better to be right- or left-handed?   No.   Next question.   Maybe the question should be, “Was Adam right or left-handed?” Because however he was created is how we were designed to work best.   While the Bible doesn’t really spell that out, we can do a bit of digging using the Bible, what we know of God,…

10 Virtuous Woman Ways to Build Strong, Healthy Bones

10 Virtuous Woman Ways to Build Strong, Healthy Bones

The other day I was kneading bread dough and thinking about how great that is for building strength in my wrist bones and also for building grip strength which is something that has been deteriorating the more inactive people become. As in, grip strength was SO 30 years ago. (source)   I started thinking about the virtuous woman from Proverbs 31.…
